Peter Tsukahira is an Asian-American, now an Israeli citizen. The son of an
American diplomat, Peter was born in the U.S. and raised in Japan. Peter
became a believer in 1973 and attended Christ for the Nations Institute
(Dallas, Texas). He completed a Bachelor's degree in economics at Tufts
University (Medford, Massachusetts) and enrolled in the American Christian
Theological School (Anaheim, California) where he earned a Masters of
Divinity degree
Peter and his wife, Rita, a Messianic Jew, moved to Tokyo, Japan in 1982
where they led a growing international fellowship. Peter also worked in the
Japanese computer industry. In 1987, they became immigrants and moved to
Haifa, Israel. After the Gulf War in 1991, Peter was instrumental in establishing
the congregation of Kehilat HaCarmel (Carmel Assembly) on Mount Carmel
and became one of the pastors. He now directs the Or HaCarmel (light of the
Carmel) Ministry Center and the Mount Carmel School of Ministry, a two-week
intensive school and study tour focused on the prophetic significance of Israel.
Aside from his local ministry responsibilities, Peter writes books and teaches in
various countries. Peter is ordained by World Challenge International
Ministers' Fellowship founded by David Wilkerson and serves on the Board of
Directors of Church Growth International chaired by Dr. David Yonggi Cho.
LIGHT OF ZION is a ministry mediating Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), He Who is
the Light of Zion, to God's people through Bible teaching, prophetic
intercession/worship, and ministry to the poor among Israeli believers. LIGHT
OF ZION is directed by Messianic Jewish believers Kerry and Sandra
Teplinsky. With outreach to Israel and Jewish people in the nations, we are
headquartered in Orange County, California.
In 1925 the Ilyin family along with many other Russian, Ukranian and Jewish
people fled from the new Soviet Government to various countries around the
world.
As a result Fred was born in Kuldja, China in 1954 moving through Australia,
San Francisco and Seattle, Washington to settle in Canada where he now
lives with his wife Valentina and four children Matt, Kyla, Alishia and Tim.
In 1978 he made his first trip to Russia finding many who were struggling
under Communism and the Soviet regime. Fred determined in his heart that
he would do something to help those in need particularly the orphans, widows
and street kids.
From 1981 Fred has travelled many times alone and with teams from the USA,
Canada and Europe to be ‘Dad’ to the orphans and street kids of Perm,
Siberia. He spends many hours in the orphanages of the Ural Mountains and
has been actively distributing humanitarian aid to them with the blessing of the
fifty orphanage directors in the region of Perm. Fred has established the
evening care program for street kids where a team from the New Manna
Centre goes to the basements, crawl spaces, sewers and abandoned
buildings to care for and feed the street kids.
Presently Fred oversees many short term trips to Russia to help children in
need through feeding programs, medical treatment, clean clothes and a hot
steam bath, run from the Manna Children’s Centre.
